Descripción del empleo

High School 2.0 (HS 2.0) was established in 2018, standardizing Uncommon's best practices that help students find and pursue their passions. All 10th-12th grade students engage in co-curricular classes, which provide students with an opportunity to explore an area of passion, learn about areas of study that could become a passion, and participate in a rigorous project that requires sustained energy over the course of a year. Many students also participate in competitive activities, engage in internships, and take on leadership roles.

Under the umbrella of HS 2.0, Senior Year 2.0 (SY 2.0) is a new, cutting-edge program at Uncommon Schools that seeks to build on the success of Uncommon's current high school model by exploring new kinds of educational experiences for our upperclassmen. A cohort of 70 students spend the year building community, working with mentors and in internships, engaging in self-exploration, and taking tailored courses. These activities result in a "purpose project" and plan for their college experience that students present to the school community. Currently SY 2.0 is in its pilot stage at Uncommon Charter High School, but we hope to expand the program to other high schools across the Uncommon network.
