QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 4 years professional level experience and high school diploma
  2. Human Resources Certification preferred
  3. Experience working in Human Resources or related field
  4. Knowledge of HR related policies, processes, federal and state employment laws
  5. Strong communication skills; written, verbal and presentation
  6. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
  7. Possess organizational skills and the ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously and accurately
  8. Ability to work in a high profile environment with tact and diplomacy
  9. Ability to support a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion
  10. Proficiency with various office software and information systems
  11. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  12. High degree of attention to detail and accuracy
  13. Must adhere to the principles of confidentiality
  14. Other qualifications to the above that the Board may find acceptable and appropriate
REPORTS TO: Assistant Director of Human Resources

SUPERVISES: No direct reports

JOB GOAL: Provide support, consultation and resources on Human Resource's programs and services in support of the District's mission to ensure that every child receives an excellent education

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Provide service and consultation to employees and leaders regarding human resource matters, policies and processes
  2. Make recommendations to HR and District staff based on the analyzation of data, feedback from employees and identification of trends
  3. Support employees through the employment cycle including onboarding documentation, status changes and retirement or exit counseling
  4. Manage benefit enrollment process, paid time off and leaves of absence
  5. Collaborate with vendors to provide staffing support for temporary and substitute coverage
  6. Conduct intake of concerns and complete investigations and reports related to Employee Relations matters
  7. Support labor relations by building relationships and responding to inquiries
  8. Create, maintain and audit electronic and paper files to ensure compliance with Federal, State and local laws
  9. Data entry of employment files, status changes and coordinate appropriate access
  10. Assist with the overall function of the Office of Talent & Employee Engagement
  11. Other duties as assigned
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Cross train in other general OTEE functions
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full year. Salary to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION: Performance is evaluated in accordance with the Compensation and Performance Evaluation Plan for School and District Leaders.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

Physical Demands:
Sitting at a desk for extended periods of time. Standing for limited periods of time.
Occasional bending, crouching, stooping, twisting, reaching and grasping. Light lifting- up to 15 pounds.
Repetitive movement of fingers and hands for keyboarding.

Sensory Abilities:
Visual acuity to read correspondence and computer screens. Auditory acuity to be able to use telephones.
Ability to speak clearly and distinctly.

Temperament:
Ability to work as a member of a team.
Must be courteous and able to deal effectively with people. Must be cooperative, congenial, and service oriented.
Ability to work with limited supervision. Ability to be flexible.

Mental Demands:
Ability to interpret detailed written and verbal communications. Ability to function in fast-paced and high-pressure work setting.

Environment:
Office setting.
Ability to travel to other locations for training and meetings.
