About Our District

The Madison Metropolitan School District is the second largest school district in Wisconsin. The district serves a beautifully diverse population of more than 27,000 students. More than half are students of color. Almost half come from low income households. Nearly one third are English Language Learners, and more than 100 languages are represented in our schools. Madison schools are committed to making this district a place where every child thrives.

Purpose of Position:

The Madison Metropolitan School District is seeking qualified\napplicants for the position of Director-Strategic\nPartnerships. This position ensures the alignment of partnerships\nwith MMSD goals and priorities, especially those that advance the work as set\nforth in the Strategic Framework. The Director aligns current partner\nactivities to priorities and ensures program quality. The Director also\nseeks out future partners in areas of need, including areas in which the\nDistrict would like to innovate. This position reports to the Executive\nDirector of Family, Youth and Community Partnerships and functions as a liaison\nto District departments, schools and programs to ensure the ongoing\ndevelopment, implementation and oversight of community partnerships that equitably\nserve MMSD students and families.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Director of Strategic Partnerships supervises the M.O.S.T\nCoordinator (in collaboration with the City of Madison), the MMSD Volunteer\nCoordinator and the Partnerships Assistant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•Oversees MMSD Partnerships Policy and Procedures and ensures best practices in ongoing program development, implementation, operation and evaluation.
•Seeks out community partners to achieve MMSD goals and priorities and works proactively with groups and individuals to design and implement mutually beneficial partnerships that leverage community resources in support of specific District priorities and provide equitable opportunities for community entities to participate.
•Works with Central Office staff to ensure current partnership programs, agreements and contracts comply with established requirements and have the resources they need (materials, human resources, technical assistance) for successful program operation.
•Coordinates communication, resources and activities within MMSD to facilitate the operation of community partnerships and equitable access throughout the District by students and families.
•Monitors and reviews ongoing partnerships to help ensure continuous improvement and determine how agreements may need to change to meet evolving student and family needs or dissolve.
•Coordinates annual external evaluations for select partnerships.
•Ensures that District legal and ethical obligations to student privacy are observed.
•Works with internal and external partners to help remove student and family barriers to participation in partnership activities.
•Maintains partnership records and inquiry process and serves as point person for information regarding current, developing and proposed partnerships programs.
•Oversees the development and implementation of district-wide systems to support volunteerism with MMSD.
•Oversees the coordination and implementation of various large-scale tutoring partnerships operating in schools.
•Co-leads the Madison-area Out-of-school Time (MOST) initiative in collaboration with the City of Madison and various youth-serving organizations.
•Coordinates MMSD's After School Advisory Board and related actions to support the strengthening of collaborative relationships among local childcare providers and MMSD schools.
•Serves on various community and district committees.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications:

•Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
•A minimum of 5 years experience working in collaborative school-community programming.
•Experience working to advance student academic achievement.
•Experience providing leadership to multiple-partner collaborations.
•Experience working with elected officials, the business community and community leaders.
•Experience working cross-culturally and/or commitment to work toward improving one's own cultural competence i.e., valuing difference/diversity, recognizing personal limitations in one's skills and expertise and having the desire to learn in these areas.

•Master's Degree in Education or related field.
•Demonstrated ability to work with racially, linguistically and economically diverse communities.
•Demonstrated ability to access and utilize district technology to perform duties and responsibilities.
•Demonstrated ability to work with students who are racially, linguistically and economically diverse.
•Demonstrated ability to collaborate with school-based administrators, faculty and community partners.
•Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze and report student achievement data.

Salary Range

68,036.80 - 89,648.00 Annual Salary
