    Required Qualifications:
    1. Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent.

    2. Be able to type a minimum of 50 words per minute with accuracy.

    3. Computer literate and be able to operate various Google and Microsoft Office applications, and database software.

    4. Be able to speak, read, and write effectively.

    5. Possess general maturity and aptitude for office duties, including telephone etiquette, filing, and handling correspondence.

    6. Experience or educational background in business or office education, particularly in bookkeeping, accounting, office procedures, and record keeping.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    1. Minimum of five years experience in skilled secretarial field.

    2. Possess basic computer skills.

    3. Advanced training or course work at a college or business school.

    4. Ability to work well with others.

    5. Ability to take direction from others.

    6. Ability to make accurate decisions and use good judgment.

    7. Ability to conduct in-service training of others

    8. Ability to exercise organizational skills


    General Description / Specific Performance Indicators
    1. Possess and demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities in the performance of secretarial tasks.

    1. Demonstrate good knowledge of business office procedures and practices.

    2. Ability to operate typewriter, personal computer, or terminal.

    3. Demonstrate keyboard/typing skills at approved rates for position.

    1. Plan and prepare assignments to ensure effective and efficient completion.

    1. Confer with the administrator to receive regular and special assignments.

    2. Prioritize and schedule regular and special assignments to ensure efficient operation and timely completion.

    3. Participate in planning to ensure office and phone coverage throughout the working day.

    1. Apply clerical knowledge, skills, and abilities to complete assigned tasks.
      1. Prepare and maintain accurate records.

      2. Compile and type a variety of materials and enter and retrieve data from computer or terminal according to prescribed procedures; maintain files as required by regulations.

      3. Operate a variety of office equipment, including computer printers, and related equipment.

      4. Prepare correspondence.

      5. Act as receptionist for visitors, etc. and answer inquiries or forward to the appropriate person or place.

      6. Screen telephone calls and mail, personally responding to those not requiring action by the administrator.

    1. Manage Resources.
      1. Requisition supplies, maintain inventory, distribute supplies as required, and maintain records.

      2. Prepare, update and maintain capital asset inventory records

      3. Verify all invoices and bills for accuracy and timely payments.

      4. Assist with month - end and year-end reports relative to accounts payable and equipment inventory subsystem.

    1. Participate in training and staff development activities
      1. Attend required in-services.

      2. Maintain clerical and computer technology utilization skills through attendance at training sessions as appropriate.

    1. Demonstrate possession of the physical and mental attributes required to perform all essential functions.
      1. Sufficient dexterity and motor skills to operate typewriter and/or computer keyboard at approved rate of speed and perform routine maintenance on office equipment including copiers.

      2. Possession of mental abilities required reading, interpreting, and following written and oral instructions, and carrying out all required and assigned tasks listed above or on the active class specification.

    1. Perform other related duties as assigned by the administrator.
      1. Perform related tasks which may not be specifically listed but which are necessary to ensure the essential functions of this department.

      2. Serve as backup to secretary or other clerical position as required or assigned.

    Terms of Employment: Salary:

    260 Days Per the Negotiated OAPSE Agreement
