  • Description:
    • Special Ed Classroom Instructional Assistant

    • 7 hours per day


    Qualifications:
    • Para-educator certification or 2 year post secondary education strongly preferred

    • Primarily responsible for coaching academic and social skills

    • Positive, calm, and caring adult

    • Enjoys working with students with academic challenges

    • Able to redirect students towards positive behavior and accelerate their academic learning

    • Responsible for assisting teacher with individualized instruction

    • Strong instructional skills, ability to build strong relationships with at risk youth, strong team building skills, strong communication skills

    • Responsible for documentation and record-keeping related to students' needs and behaviors

    • Ability to lift 50 pounds


    Working Conditions:
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to indoor and outdoor conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently walk, stoop, band and sit. The Noise level in the work environment ranges from mild to loud.
