As the Talent Acquisition Associate, you will build productive partnerships, source passive and active talent, and support candidates through full-cycle recruitment. You will support principals and school hiring teams on recruitment best practices such as setting early hiring goals, managing timelines towards full staffing, conducting effective and bias-free interviews, and developing candidate engagement strategies that ensure our schools employ extraordinary teachers and staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Cultivate a diverse talent pool through various channels including but not limited to direct outreach, hosting networking events, attending job fairs, facilitating university information sessions, industry networking and developing relationships with pipeline partners
  • Nurture strong school partnerships to drive a structured and effective selection process, including leading weekly status meetings, coaching hiring team members, analyzing school-specific data and serving as a consultant on all recruitment-related matters
  • Research and establish creative sourcing strategies to find the best candidates who align with the organization's mission
  • Assess and match top-tier candidates through application screens, phone/ video interviews and tailored referrals
  • Actively engage applicants with care and enthusiasm to drive a best-in-class candidate experience
  • Partner with the TA team to set short and long-term recruitment goals and assess data collected against benchmarks
  • Support branding initiatives through recruitment marketing campaigns and candidate communications
  • Leverage technology to enhance sourcing, interview and candidate engagement activities
  • Ensure candidates meet proper certifications and fingerprint clearance requirements to be hired into a New Visions school
  • Support school hiring teams with interview coordination and candidate communication as needed
  • Facilitate training to school and central office hiring team members on best practices in recruitment
  • Lead other recruitment projects as needed

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in staffing and recruitment
  • Experience in education or teacher recruitment preferred

Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong relationship building and nurturing skills with candidates and staff at all levels of an organization
  • High level of integrity, ethics and positive energy in all stakeholder interactions
  • Commitment to producing consistently high quality, detailed work and a willingness to take on projects outside a set scope of work
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of technology and database systems to manage projects, organize work and communicate effectively with others
  • Ability to pull, report and use data to make informed decisions about recruitment and hiring
  • Demonstrable knowledge and application of standard methodologies in recruitment
  • Ability to network effectively and build talent pools for large volume hiring
  • Commitment to building an engaging and seamless candidate experience
  • Personable and approachable with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn quickly, work in a fast paced environment and multi-task effectively
  • Flexibility when faced with changing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Ability to identify challenges and actively seek out effective solutions
  • Excellent event planning and management skills
  • Ability to influence decisions and drive results
  • Strong marketing/sales and follow-up skills
  • Strong technology skills, including Google Suite and ATS/ HRIS (Greenhouse preferred)

Physical Requirements:
  • Travel to schools across all NYC boroughs for meetings
  • Occasional non-standard hours and weekends required

In 2019-20, graduation rates in our Charter and Affinity networks were 94.9% and 86.9% and our college readiness rates were 56.9% and 61.6%.
