Learning Loss Attendance Specialist
Starting Salary: $34,468
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with major in education, social work or other related field.
- Experience in working with at-risk students.
- Satisfactory work record & criminal/child abuse clearances (Acts 34, 114, and 151).
- Experience in public education preferred.
- Experience designing and delivering professional development
- Ability to lead, plan, organize, and work collaboratively with various teams
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create positive relationships
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
To work with assigned schools to identify students with chronic absenteeism, individual barriers to school attendance, and individualized interventions needed to improve school attendance. Support the implementation of evidence-based attendance initiatives to increase daily attendance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilize district and school attendance data to identify students with attendance issues.
- Monitor attendance data weekly and share findings and trends with school personnel.
- Actively participate in attendance team meetings in assigned schools.
- Collaborate with Home and School Visitors and other school staff.
- Schedule and conduct Student Attendance Improvement Conferences for eligible students and families.
- Facilitate development of School and Student Attendance Improvement Plans and follow up as needed.
- Identify student and family barriers to school attendance and work to remove barriers on both an individual and schoolwide basis.
- Work with schools to create and implement multi-tiered attendance intervention strategies schoolwide.
- Collaborate with and make referrals to appropriate community agencies.
- Maintain and submit accurate records to ensure appropriate accountability.
- Collect data related to attendance interventions and supports.
- Conduct attendance related home visits.
