E ssential Functions and Objectives:

S erve as an expert on Internal Communications including District intranet, written and email communications. Provide strategic communications support and guidance on districtwide initiatives. Provide training, guidance, resources and support to stakeholders across the district.

- Create and execute communications plans, and provide strategic communications support and guidance on districtwide initiatives.

- Act as the main point-of-contact and project manager for the employee intranet, managing training, guidance, resources and support for multiple projects simultaneously.

- Oversee the growth and enhancement of the employee intranet; lead its governance, including consistent branding, style formatting, etc., as well as ADA requirements; develop strategy recommendations for its overall vision and future.

- Work in collaboration with other Communications teammates and stakeholders to leverage cross-promotion of content, including news stories, videos and other sources; plan and support with posting daily content to the employee intranet; manage the daily homepage content.

- Write, format, edit and proofread a variety of communications, including information for newsletters, executive communications, website content, print content, promotional materials, messaging and more.

- Provides various support and conducts activities related to logistics, reporting, training, communications, and processes. Participates in the planning and implementation of new initiatives.

- Assesses and troubleshoots escalated problems and applies expert understanding to resolve complex challenges of stakeholders; focuses on root cause identification in order to achieve systemic and sustainable improvement. Approves and documents exceptions for compliance record keeping and reporting.

- Ensures appropriate key stakeholder involvement in planning, goal-setting, and implementation to achieve buy-in of work products. Ensures purposeful, positive and professional interactions and relationships with all stakeholders; enables consistent application of work products across the district.

- Identifies opportunities for improvement, prioritizes, and recommends solutions to management. Implements approved enhancements to ensure consistency across the district. identifies opportunities to reduce costs; analyzes available data, trends, and feedback, and ensures compliance with expectations for optimal operation and goal achievement.

K nowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

- Five (5) years of communications, journalism, media relations, marketing, content development, preferably with experience in education or a public agency.

- Exceptional oral, writing, proofreading and editing skills, as well as experience in tailoring messaging to a variety of audiences.

- Can create high-quality content quickly and under tight deadlines.

- Ability to create and execute strategic and detailed communications plans.

- Knowledge of AP Style.

- Knowledge of Schoolwires/Blackboard, WordPress and Constant Contact.

- Effective time management and organizational skills.

- Effective communication skills.

- Strong attention to detail.

- Effectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlines.

- The ability to take responsibility for one's own performance.

- Work collaboratively with others on a team.

- Aptitude for variety and changing expectations and a fast-paced environment.

E ducation Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism or related field, required.
