Position Title: Recruitment Assistant Intern [Unpaid Internship]

Payroll/Personnel Type: Micro-Internship

Reports to : Recruitment Coordinator/Recruitment Associate

Position Summary:

The Recruitment Assistant Intern works collaboratively on the Recruitment Team to ensure that all District vacancies are filled with effective, mission-driven employees. Reporting to the Recruitment Associate and the Coordinator, the Recruitment Assistant Intern will support the effective practices that will assure diverse pools of applicants are represented in screening and hiring practices among hiring managers.

Essential Functions:
  • Manages day-to-day operations related to candidate screening, scheduling, update status, and communication to ensure that candidates have a seamless experience with the District
  • Provides top-notch customer service to all candidates, effectively communicating and problem-solving to fill vacancies
  • Monitor network of all candidates, in cost effective manner, screen and coordinate interviews with hiring managers for non-certificated, school based and non-school based positions that serve the District
  • Recruit and attract candidates for positions and match their skills to the appropriate vacancy
  • Develop job descriptions that are professional, appealing and align with the Job Description Guidance requirements
  • Undertake clerical duties of Recruitment Team in assuring the processes are followed in the selection process


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong oral and written communication skills that demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, efficiency, and precision
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Self-starter with a high degree of personal ownership for achieving results
  • Quick learner who anticipates barriers and plans effectively to navigate challenges
  • Deep understanding of equity, especially in an educational context
  • Deeply committed to growing and accepting feedback with a demonstrated track record of receiving feedback well and implementing feedback effectively


Experience:
  • Demonstrated track record of being highly reliable and professional
  • One year of recruiting experience or office experience
  • Experience in an urban school setting


Education:
  • In current Bachelor's Degree program (required)


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle
  • Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body
  • Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree


Working Conditions and Environment:
  • Work is routinely performed in a typical interior/office environment
  • Very limited or no exposure to physical risk
