GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Medicaid Specialist reports directly to the Executive Director of Finance. This individual is responsible for all phases of the Medicaid reimbursement program detailed below and for the continuous review of all activities within his/her scope of duties for efficiency and technological improvements.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Individual tasks, if at all varied, are assigned in detail and specific instructions are given as to the manner of performance; work is carefully checked by supervisor both in process and in final form for completeness and accuracy.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED: This is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and duties performed by incumbents of this class; employees may be assigned duties which are not listed below. The job description does not constitute an employment agreement and is subject to change. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

Under the direction of the Executive Director of Finance /his or her designee, the Medicaid Specialist will:

· Coordinate collection activities for Medicaid documentation

· Review completed Medicaid logs and prepare for mailing to fee for service billing company

· Coordinate dissemination of Medicaid information to Service Providers

· Maintain databases for Providers return of documentation

· Follow-up with providers, as needed, on the timely return of documentation

· Provide training for new Medicaid providers on Medicaid documentation procedures

· Provide bi-monthly and end of year financial reports to the Executive Director of Finance and Senior Budget Coordinator regarding services billed and work completed

· Maintain current Service Provider Lists

· Maintain current mailing systems for Providers

· Ensure availability of documentation forms

· Work closely with and provide information to fee for service billing company

· Work closely with Special Education Medical Assistants to provide information and monitor billing of service provider

· Provide information for Medicaid Provider Agreement and other reports as requested by the State


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND CAPACITIES:

· Working knowledge of WORD, EXCEL and ACCESS computer programs

· Must be proficient in software used to process Medicaid claims or ability to learn

· Must have the knowledge and skills to build positive relationships with people from diverse populations.

· Commitment to the mission and vision of PPSD and the relevance of job functions to that mission and vision.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education
: Such as may have been gained through a High school Diploma or educational equivalent.

Experience: Such as may have been gained through a minimum two years' experience working with Medicaid Program activities or medical billing activities.
Or, any combination of education and experience that shall be substantially equivalent to the above education and experience

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Must be confidential


Salary Range: $55,764- 62,462

Must complete all compliance videos prior to first day of work

Selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check. Selected candidates cannot begin work until passing their background check.
