  • JOB GOAL:

    To prepare leaders in the A/V, Arts and Communications related industries by translating the district curriculum goals and objectives into learning experience for all students in the district.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Hold a valid CTE Emerging Technologies Teaching Certification.

    2. Hold a valid Arizona Driver's License with no major traffic violations.

    3. Maintain a valid Fingerprint Card.

    4. Preferred experience with a Career & Technical Student Organization, FBLA and/or SkillsUSA.

    5. Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.

    6. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.

    7. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling.

    8. Ability to bend and lift 25 lbs and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.

    9. Prolonged use of computer and repetitive hand motions.



    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
    1. Develop and Facilitate lessons that meet the Arizona Department of Education Technical Skills Standards related to Film and TV Production (50.0602.00) and Digital Photography (50.0605.00)

    2. Utilize effective instructional techniques and resources to meet curriculum goals and objectives

    3. Maintain academic and attendance records of students

    4. Works with district content specialists to plan and implement a program of study that meets the needs and abilities of all students within the district

    5. Works with different departments within the district to provide unique learning opportunities for students enrolled in the CTE Programs.

    6. Submits weekly lesson plans that demonstrate the learning objective, resources and instructional strategies being used to engage all students.

    7. Monitors and Assesses student work and provides regular, timely feedback of student progress to students and parents

    8. Diagnoses, instructs and evaluates specific student needs and seeks assistance of district specialists as required

    9. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing the development of proper student behavior.

    10. Develops and implements reasonable classroom rules of behavior and procedure in a fair and just manner that creates a classroom environment which is safe and conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.

    11. Promotes and follows the adopted school district philosophy, policies, regulations and administrative procedures.

    12. Communicates concerns and ideas with colleagues, students, parents, and community in a positive, professional and ethical manner.

    13. Assumes legal responsibility for the supervision of students on school property and in attendance at school-sponsored activities, when applicable.

    14. Participates in continuing education related to instructional practices, industry practices and Career and Technical Student Organizations.

    15. Works with the Director of College and Career Readiness and CTE to ensure classroom and lab compliance with all local, state and federal regulations related to the industry workplace.

    16. Demonstrates the ability to perform duties under stress while interacting with students, parents, peers, and the general public.

    17. Facilitate expertise in the use of industry-related software including the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.

    18. Facilitates and/or administers industry credential exams as outlined by the Director of College and Career Readiness and CTE and the Arizona Department of Education.

    19. Works with the Director of College and Career Readiness and CTE to meet local, state and federal guidelines for Career and Technical Education.

    20. Facilitate and demonstrate expertise with production studio equipment, hardware, and software

    21. Serve as a point of contact and facilitate the school's video production and live broadcasting services.

    22. Manage and supervise the local FBLA or SkillsUSA Career and Technical Student Organization chapter.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 194 Days = 187 + 7 Holidays NEW teacher

    COMPENSATION: Per District Certified Salary Schedule

    BENEFITS: As per District policy

    EVALUATION: Initial evaluation to be completed no later than ninety (90) days after first day of work; thereafter, annually by supervisor.

    REPORTS TO: Principal

    HOURS: 40 hours per week and may require longer hours

    CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt
