Specifics:
Possession of an entry-level occupational therapy degree from an ACOTE-accredited occupational therapy assistant (OTA) program preferred. One year experience in occupational therapy or related field preferred. School based experience preferred. Under the direction of the Student Support Services Director, the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides direct and consultative occupational therapy services to designated students according to goals contained in an individualized education plan (IEP) or 504 plan. The COTA shall be limited to the responsibilities, duties, and functions as provided in Section 2570-2571 of the California Business and Professions Code. Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant Certification from the California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT) or Valid certification issued by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License required. Also, an acceptable driving record and insurability by the District's Insurance Carrier. Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate issued by an authorized agency. See job description for further specifics.
