Position Summary
The Director (Organizational Development) is primarily responsible for the developmental training, and Human Resources (HR) required training for non-instructional staff. Specifically, the director will support the assessment of professional learning needs for non-instructional staff, plus work collaboratively with school and central office leaders to design, implement, and assess the effectiveness of training opportunities that support the continuous building of staff's capacity. Position Summary

Essential Duties
- Establishes, provides, and communicates ongoing professional learning opportunities for non-instructional staff to obtain the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to meet the district's goals, initiatives, and priorities
- Assists with the development and implementation of long and short-term strategic plans for Human Resources, consistent with the district's vision and mission
- Provides strategic direction for ascertaining and addressing HR-related training and career pathway needs by collaborating with all stakeholders, with a focus on non-instructional personnel
- Coordinates and implements an annual needs-assessment of non-instructional personnel and compliance training, and use the results to create a comprehensive, coherent professional learning plan that aligns to the district goals, strategic priorities, and initiatives, and the standards for professional learning
- Uses principles of adult learning and innovative technology solutions to improve and enhance professional learning
- Leads the design and delivery of professional learning for district-wide initiatives related to career development, compliance, new employee orientation, and novice teacher induction
- Oversees the maintenance of a database containing records of professional development initiatives
- Oversees all aspects of the district's learning management system, from vendor selection, management, budget projections and cost model, and learning management data oversight
- Coordinates the assessment, evaluation, and measurement of the impact of assigned programs
- Works collaboratively with the Strategy Office to align with and support employee engagement priorities
- Works collaboratively with the Equity Office to align with and support workplace diversity, education, and inclusion initiatives
- Collaborates with all schools and other central office departments to support new staff members orientation in their positions
- Uses data to drive human capital management decisions and practices, demonstrate data-driven decision-making, and use data when collaborating with schools to determine professional learning priorities
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders, including staff, leaders, post-secondary institutions, and others
- Required to have prompt, regular attendance in-person or virtually and be available to work on-site, in-person during regular business hours, and as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative
Requirements :
Education
- Master's degree in education administration, human resources, or related field required
Certification/License
- Georgia Professional Certification, Level 5 or higher in Educational Leadership
- Valid driver's license and availability of private transportation
Work Experience
- 5 years of experience teaching required, plus
- 5 years of school or central office leadership, inclusive of experience directly managing and leading a team responsible for large-scale initiatives
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Deep knowledge and experience with adult learning theories
- Thorough knowledge of organizational and professional learning theories and best practices
- Knowledge of current trends in teacher, leader, organizational, and staff capacity building
- Proven ability to analyze data to make decisions and recommendations for professional growth and employee effectiveness
- Strong knowledge of new employee development and orientation practices and the ability to lead others to implement said practices
- Demonstrated success leading continuous improvement efforts
- Deep understanding of the urban school system environment and commitment to improving student achievement
- Above-average interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of school district organization, operations, policies, and procedures
- Expertise in the principles and practices of effective supervision and personnel management Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Google suite, collaboration tools, course development software, and learning management systems
