General Description
This position will ensure optimal protection of CCPS assets by providing analysis and feedback needed to defend against emerging attacks. The position maintains, implements, and monitors the CCPS Cybersecurity Program. Performs all duties in compliance with CCPS policies and procedures as well as federal and state law.

Requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills including meeting deadlines following policies and procedures, and maintaining superior customer service at all times with all customers. Must be able to work and exercise independent judgment with a minimum of supervision. Requires proficiency with varied computer and networking operating systems (i.e. Windows, Unix, Sun). Requires proficiency with Cisco networking hardware. Demonstrates information systems security experience. Strong working knowledge of IP networking, networking protocols and an understanding of security related technologies. Requires demonstrated understanding of Chesterfield County Public Schools supported core applications. Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with vulnerability scanning tools.
Requirements
Any combination of education, training, or experience sufficient to demonstrate the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Familiarity with and understanding of major frameworks such as NIST 800-53, ISO 270001, Virginia SEC501, or NIST CSF. General knowledge of the following cybersecurity terms/concepts: CIA, vulnerability & patch management, DRP, IRP, SIEM, CASB, BIA, RA, next-gen firewalls, IDS/IPS, DNS, PEN test, SOC, SaaS, IaaS, Paas, virtual servers, ransomware, phishing, spear phishing, whaling, awareness training. Certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CEH or equivalent required or the ability to obtain such certifications within one year of employment.

Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for defining security frameworks for existing and new systems.
- Responsible for system security planning, developing, and implementing security policies across multiple platforms.
- Ensures compliance of IT Security Policies.
- Provides technical support and consultation for enhancement of and change to network security configuration.
- Defines processes/procedures to manage network security.
- Develops cutting-edge, innovative solutions for IT networks security.
- Conducts active penetration tests, active monitoring, auditing, etc. of systems.
- Conducts annual reviews of security program documentation and creates or maintains such documentation.
- Serves as a member of the Incident Response Team.
- Regularly reports on the state of cybersecurity efforts to leadership.
- Active use of SIEM, CASB, Vulnerability Management, and other SOC tools.
- Performs other duties as assigned
