Adlai E. Stevenson High School (Lincolnshire, IL) is seeking a Director of Social Emotional Learning for the 2022-2023 school year.

Description:
Adlai E. Stevenson High School (SHS) believes that a positive learning community is supported by integrating social emotional learning and academics. By creating instructional practices that develop our students' social skills and help them access their emotional intelligences, SHS strives to create an active and well-rounded teaching and learning community and enhance our students' learning experiences.

To that end, this Administrator position will:
~ Develop and provide technical assistance in the implementation of SEL throughout the district in order to promote positive school climates, integrate pro-social teaching strategies, foster healthy youth development, and engage students collectively with explicit SEL instruction.
~ Work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to continue to develop and build the future of SEL in our school communities.
~ Think creatively, strategically, and innovatively to develop strategies and practices that integrate SEL into instructional knowledge.
~ Develop strategies and practices that integrate SEL into instructional knowledge at the classroom level and ultimately within a multi-tiered system of support.
~ Lead the professional development of SEL at Stevenson.
~ Work in partnership with education leaders inside and outside SHS, including feeder schools, SEL national organizations, and community resources.
~ Ensure resources, professional learning, and policies align with the Illinois State SEL Standards and are designed to support student growth and achievement, teacher professional development, and school-wide climate improvement for the diverse population at SHS.

Specific Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Create, sustain, and evolve the following as necessary to promote SEL at SHS:
~ Developing, planning, coordinating, and writing all components of the SEL Learning Cadre.
~ Lead SEL instructional strategizing with division directors, teams, etc., to better mature and support the growth of SEL.
~ Partner with tangential district leaders, which may include leaders in areas of evidence-based reporting, equity and diversity, student services and support, and curriculum & instruction, to better coordinate integration.
~ Join the Administrative Team Meetings to begin the work of widening the leadership knowledge and impact of SEL instruction.
~ Coordinate SEL data collection, analysis, and usage.
~ Support SEL in all tiered levels of support.

Qualifications:
Education, Licensure, and Experience:
~ Illinois Professional Educators License (PEL), required
~ ISBE General Administrator Endorsement (Type 75), or Principal Endorsement, preferred
~ Teacher Observation credentials, as outlined by ISBE, required
~ Masters' Degree in the field of Psychology, Education, School Counseling, Social Work, or related field, preferred
~ Experience working with a diverse population, preferred
~ Demonstrate multiple experiences of coordinating professional development with teachers, preferred
~ Experience working with social and emotional learning needs of students in school-based settings, preferred
~ Possess a working knowledge of the Illinois State SEL Standards and basic SEL content, including current research, practice, and theoretical knowledge, preferred
~ Successful experience with planning and conducting meetings and trainings as well as facilitation methodologies which incorporate data-driven strategies for change, preferred
~ Experience in exploring theories of educational improvement, youth development and adult learning, preferred
