About Holmdel Township
The Holmdel Township Public Schools serve approximately 3,000 students in grades pre-K - 12 in 4 schools. Holmdel takes great pride in its schools and with a tradition of community support, the district has always held steadfast to its commitment to developing healthy, well-rounded, and future-ready graduates. In partnership with committed, engaged and motivated parents and guardians, the Holmdel Township School District is driven to support all students' efforts to meet and exceed the New Jersey Student Learning Standards, and to become responsible and resourceful citizens and life-long learners. With a deep focus on each individual student, great care is taken to identify and focus on what students are most ready to learn, and in so doing, expand upon and make aspirations a reality for each of them - innovating in order to elevate each student academically as well as socially and emotionally.**
Active individuals and community groups work together to support academics, the arts, and athletics in the Holmdel schools. A graduation rate of over 97% and high proficiency rates in both mathematics and reading result in Holmdel ranking in the top 20 school districts in the state of New Jersey.*** The Board members are looking for an innovative leader to recognize and continue the great work that is currently happening while leading the district into the post-pandemic era and commit to the process of continual improvement.
Located in Monmouth County, NJ, the Township of Holmdel was established in 1857 and grew from an agricultural community to a thriving community of approximately 17,000. The Township has been noted for its historical connection to Bell Laboratories where important evidence for the Big Bang was discovered and, in 1964, Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson provided substantial confirmation of the theory. They were subsequently awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for their work.* The strong tradition of excellent education is the foundation on which the Holmdel community is built.
