Description of Service Opportunity:
The ELL Before and After School Academic Support Teacher will instruct English Language Learners at CRLS for up to 8 hours per week. The teacher will support EL students in grades 9-12 using sheltered immersion methodology, English language development strategies, and integrated technology. Academic Support includes:
- ESL and math academic enrichment
- Academic writing support
- Orientation and access to CRLS programs, extracurricular activities, and opportunities
- Support with college application process
- Organizational skills for successful scholars
Mimimum Requirement/Job Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Education and/or ESL
Experience: At least 3 years experience teaching high school ELLs from linguistically diverse backgrounds in an urban setting
Languages: Proficiency in English and fluency in a language other than English is preferred, but not required.
Certification: MA Teacher in ELL, SEI, or Special Education
Note: This is an in-district position.
Contract Dates:
October 8, 2021 through June 10, 2022
Contract Amount
$33.00 per hour, Not to exceed $7,920.00
