SEIS Associate Director for Professional Development and Curriculum

The Collaborative for Educational Services is looking for a SEIS Associate Director for Professional Development and Curriculum to assist in administering the SEIS contract services for the benefit of children and youth residing in facilities operated by the Massachusetts Departments of Mental Health, Public Health, Youth Services and the County Houses of Correction by managing professional development and curriculum. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator dedicated to social justice and equity with a background in, and passion for, improving teacher practice including inclusive practice and learning outcomes for youth placed at-risk, youth with disabilities and diverse populations. This position is a 12-month position scheduled for full time 40 hrs.

The Collaborative for Educational Services is contracted by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to coordinate and deliver special education services to students in the care of the Department of Youth Services (DYS), Department of Mental Health (DMH), Department of Public Health (DPH), and the County Houses of Correction (CHC). SEIS educators work closely with general educators to develop and deliver effective instruction for students with IEPs.

Requirements:
  1. Masters Degree in Education
  2. Massachusetts teaching license required; special education license desirable
  3. Massachusetts administrators license
  4. 5 years of experience in education with a focus on curriculum, instruction and assessment, preferably including experience with special education or alternative programs
  5. Knowledgeable of Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, as revised and aligned with Common Core standards
  6. Able to work in a collaborative manner and develop and maintain strong teams
  7. Strong leadership, supervision, organizational, problem solving, and communication skills
  8. Able to multi-task and prioritize work effectively
  9. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Google workspace, Google Sites, Google Suite

Compensation scale: Range $85,000-$95,000

Health Insurance is offered through Tufts/Harvard Pilgrim and includes two plan options: PPO with a self-funded Health Savings Account, and HMO with a Health Reimbursement Account funded by CES to support a portion of health insurance deductions. FSA and Dependent Care accounts are available. CES is considered a quasi-state agency and provides two retirement options for employees based on eligibility. Employees are vested after ten years of creditable service. Professional development and mentoring offered throughout the school year.
