Essential Functions and Objectives:

Administers and manages activities within a specific area of a responsibility. Serves as the subject matter expert and applies gained knowledge to execute, maintain and improve systems, programs, or processes.

Responsible for managing the business activities for a cohort of 3-4 schools. With minimal guidance and supervision and a high degree of autonomy, provides support by processing all financial transactions, including payroll, procurement card, and requisitions. Strategizes with school leaders with regard to solutions surrounding Human Resources hiring and posting procedures and options. Completes monthly analysis and reconciliation in order to process entries and correct any errors (budget transfers, journal entries) and keeps detailed records for all transactions in an organized and standard system. Consults with Financial Partners and school leaders regarding strategic decision making and financial planning.

- Provides various support and conducts activities related to logistics, reporting, training, communications, and processes. Participates in the planning and implementation of new initiatives.

- Assesses and troubleshoots escalated problems and applies expert understanding to resolve complex challenges of stakeholders; focuses on root cause identification in order to achieve systemic and sustainable improvement. Approves and documents exceptions for compliance record keeping and reporting.

- Ensures appropriate key stakeholder involvement in planning, goal-setting, and implementation to achieve buy-in of work products. Ensures purposeful, positive and professional interactions and relationships with all stakeholders; enables consistent application of work products across the district.

- Identifies opportunities for improvement, prioritizes, and recommends solutions to management. Implements approved enhancements to ensure consistency across the district. identifies opportunities to reduce costs; analyzes available data, trends, and feedback, and ensures compliance with expectations for optimal operation and goal achievement.

- Collects, reviews, and processes financial information and creates necessary financial reports; maintains all aspects of a school's business transactions, ensuring accurate and timely processing; and provides input to financial partners and administrators to aid in developing a complete and integrated budget that includes all funds available to the school

- Provides oversight for the following financial and human resources processes: accounts payable/receivables, purchasing/receiving, p-card program, payroll, grants administration, posting positions, journal entries and ledger, and account reconciliations; maintains high levels of accuracy and integrity as well as adherence to District and federal regulations.

- Analyzes business operations, staffing requirements, financial commitments, and obligations in order to project future expenses and provide advice.

- Develops and maintains effective working relationships with financial services and other departments.

- Acts to consistently ensure the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of designated financial records with minimal supervision and keeps financial partner and/or school leaders informed of all exceptions, variances, or violations to established rules.

- Provides guidance to school leaders and acts as liaison to District departments and/or functions on behalf of schools, providing broad direction as well as individual support and management.

- Demonstrates cost consciousness and fiscal responsibility while performing the duties of this position.

- Provides creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in budgeting and accounting, utilizing automated systems.

- Valid driver's license, appropriate insurance coverage, and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years.

- Proficiency with Google Suite products and specialized accounting and budgeting software.

- Effective time management and organizational skills.

- Effective communication skills.

Education Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience.
