Performs a variety of professional mental health duties designed to promote the social-emotional development of all Fairfax County Public Schools PreK and Early Head Start students (6 weeks to 5 years old) and coordinates comprehensive mental health service programs and support plans for children exhibiting challenging behaviors; plans and implements training and professional learning for staff and caregivers in mental health and related issues; collaborates with internal and external staff members in order to provide comprehensive services.

Qualifications:
Master's degree in psychology or social work. Three years of experience as a social worker or psychologist. Experience in an early childhood or preschool setting preferred. Professional certification in clinical social work or enrollment in an approved program for licensure. Knowledge of psychological theory and practice as applied to the behavior and development of children. Ability to apply knowledge to the needs and requirements of a public school system. Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with other professionals within the school and community. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
