  • Position Purpose - (Full-time) (2 Year Grant - ESSER FUNDS)

    Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to develop students' skills and competence in basic and complex mathematical principles, equations, formulas and calculations, as well as an understanding of the application of mathematics in the solution of practical problems.

    Essential Performance Responsibilities:

    Works with lead teacher and department chair to provide instruction.

    Develops and administers math intervention consistent with school district goals and Edgenuity leaerning objectives.

    Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.

    Works with the lead teacher and math department chair to develop lesson plans and instructional materials for subject area, and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.

    Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs. aligned with the Edgenuity Learning Platform.

    Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.

    Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.

    Supports Tier I instruction to provide tiered support for students who struggle with specific and discrete skills.

    Experience working with students in a school setting preferred and/or demonstrated ability to make connections and provide academic support for all students.

    All other duties assigned by school principal.

    This position may require some substitute teaching when a substitute is not available.
