    SALARY: Administrative Salary Schedule WORK YEAR: 260 Days {GRANT FUNDING-2 YEAR ASSIGNMENT}

    REPORTS TO: Chief of Human Resources

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Under the direction of the Chief of Human Resources the COVID-19 HR Specialist will serve as a liaison on COVID-19 issues for all employees. The Supervisor will ensure protocols are followed in a safe manner with employee's health, safety and confidentiality as a priority. The COVID-19 Supervisor/HR performs administrative functions and serves as a point of contact for employees and supports the Human Resources Department.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in Human Resources, Education or a related field.
    • Minimum of three (3) years applicable human resources work experience.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, telephone techniques and etiquette.
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite. Prior experience with employee tracking systems highly desired.
    • Valid Driver's License.


    KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:

    Knowledge of:
    • Coronavirus (COVID-19), and or/public health preparedness.
    • Evidence-based best practices related to COVID-19.
    • Human Resources Functions.
    • Record keeping and filing systems.
    • Standard office equipment and software applications.
    • Effective telephone techniques and etiquette.


    Ability to:
    • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication.
    • Maintain confidentiality of privileged and/or sensitive information.
    • Communicate and develop effective relationships with principals, teachers and function effectively as a team member.
    • Take initiative, multitask and manage tasks timelines.
    • Respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries.
    • Read and interpret documents, write reports and correspondence; and to use and integrate technology appropriately in daily work which includes, but is not limited to, efficient voice mail systems, application of basic computer skills to effectively use email, internet, word processing.
    • Follow written and oral directions to complete assigned tasks with minimum supervision

    • Strong organizational skills, using tact, patience, and courtesy.
    • Exceptional attention to detail.
    • Computer skills, including research capabilities and use of appropriate data analytical tools to develop and track benchmarks.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Essential Job Functions)
    • Serve as the human resources initial point of contact for reports of employee potential COVID-19 exposure and positive COVID-19 test results.
    • Review contact tracing forms and send communications to impacted employees.
    • Provide quarantine guidance in accordance with the CDC and Public Health guidelines.
    • Track employees return to work.
    • Submit Employee COVID-19 data to the Superintendent's Cabinet on a weekly basis.
    • Reviews for Remote Work request and collaborates with the Chief Human Resources Manager in regards to the request.
    • Ensures that medical information received is filed and secured properly.
    • Communicate with employees regarding questions and concerns related to COVID-19.
    • Respond quickly to crisis situations and organize and implement appropriate assessments and responses.
    • Proactively network with building administrators, health agencies to identify opportunities to collaborate.
    • Compile, manage, and make available relevant information related to COVID-19 for staff access.
    • Maintains and updates COVID-19 staff incident logs timely and accurately.
    • Reviews isolation and quarantine orders for staff members.
    • Reviews progress reports of quarantine staff and takes appropriate action including alerting supervisors of concerning issues.
    • Maintain the COVID-19 Dashboard and provide data.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of a COVID-19 preparedness and response plan.
    • Serve as an expert on COVID-19 related topics.
    • Maintains expert understanding of the latest regulations from the state of Illinois and local ordinances.
    • Prepare meaningful, concise, and accurate reports.
    • Participate in meetings and training as required.
    • Maintain all confidential Human Resources files; files and track employee evaluations, etc.
    • Review new employee files to ensure all required documents are received and in the personnel file.
    • Collaborate with building administrators to obtain updated information then centrally compile for the human resources department.
    • Assist with compiling and preparing required reports and surveys.
    • Maintain high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information.
    • Demonstrate professionalism through punctuality and have consistent, reliable attendance.
    • Assist other human resource office personnel, as needed.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the Human Resources Department.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust and temperature. Frequent interruptions throughout the day. May be exposed to stressful situations. Maintain effective critical thinking skills needed for making observations, reading and writing, communicating with others Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include frequent standing, sitting, walking, occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs.
