Are you an experienced educator with a strong background in literacy and a commitment to the success of ALL students?

Essex Westford School District has an opening for strong literacy teacher to provide literacy intervention services in support of the EWSD Reads program at Essex Middle School. Literacy Interventionists for the EWSD Reads program will support the district and provide leadership at a designated school location in the area of literacy instruction, curriculum and student assessment. This position is full-time
  • 10:00am - 5:30pm Monday through Friday) for the 2021-2022 school year.

    Candidates must hold, or be eligible to hold, a valid VT Educator license in one pf the following endorsement areas:
    • Reading/English Language Arts Specialist (PK-12)
    • Reading/English Language Arts Coordinator (PK-12)
    • Middle Grades English (5-9)

      Individuals who hold a corresponding teaching license outside the state of VT will be considered equally. Candidates with a degree in Reading, Literacy, or other similar content area who are willing and eligible to become licensed will also be considered.

      Candidates with the following additional qualifications are encouraged to apply:
      • Strong background in in literacy instruction
      • Commitment to helping all students succeed in reading comprehension
      • A strong understanding of best practices in literacy instruction and assessment is helpful
      • Understanding of the Common Core State Standards and the pedagogical underpinnings of these standards.
      • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, communication, organizational, collaboration and decision-making skills.
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

      Essex Middle School is located on Founders Road in Essex Town and houses grade 6-8 students.
