Position Summary

Gov. Kate Brown has directed that Oregon will implement a legal requirement that all public and private school teachers, staff and volunteers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. "Fully vaccinated" is defined as 14 days after receiving all required doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine (currently two shots of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or one shot of Johnson & Johnson vaccine). All staff members will need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Exemptions may be made only for eligible medical or religious reasons. There will not be an option to opt out for other reasons or choose testing in lieu of vaccination, under the state mandate.

Eugene School District 4J is accepting applications for CLASSIFIED NON-INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT SUBSTITUTE to substitute in various non-instructional classified positions. Substitutes are assigned on an on-call basis with variable hours.

VARIOUS BUILDINGS

Eugene School District 4J is currently accepting applications for all types of NON-INSTRUCTION CLASSIFIED TYPE positions to work on a substitute/on-call basis at various buildings and departments throughout the district. Specific duties will depend on area of assignment. Hiring Administrators will ONLY contact you if you are selected for an interview.

Example of Classified Non-Instructional Roles could include, but are not limited to:
  1. Clerical/Secretarial
  2. Technology Support
  3. Human Resources
  4. Finance
  5. Human Services
  6. Vocational Student Support
  7. Facilities Management
  8. Custodial
  9. Food Service

?Examples of job duties include but are not limited to:
  1. Performs a variety of clerical tasks in support of and preparation for the educational process.
  2. The position facilitates the smooth operation of the educational program by attending to details which free the teacher to develop a comprehensive lesson schedule. Assists the school secretary as needed.
  3. This class is distinguished from Educational Assistant by the focus on clerical and support duties and the supervision of students only in the lunchroom, hallway or on the playground. No direct instructional duties are performed.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Ability to use or learn to use computers and appropriate software, and other current office technology and equipment (e.g., computer systems, fax, copiers, etc.).
  2. Organizational ability. Ability to work under pressure of simultaneous deadlines and frequent interruption.
  3. Ability to make precise, accurate mathematical calculations.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; knowledge of English grammar, composition and spelling.
  5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  6. Experience differentiating practices for diverse populations.
  7. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse students, staff, and community populations.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Previous experience or training in basic clerical skills including typing and filing. Demonstrated ability to type 50 wpm.
  3. Bilingual proficiency and/or multicultural experience strongly preferred.
