This job is a full-time position in the Adult Education Department that reports to the Program Administrator.

The Adult Education Department of Atlanta Public Schools is currently accepting applications for a full-time instructor. In addition candidates must have; experience in planning, organizing, and coordinating work; ability to complete detailed paperwork; ability to interact with employees, students and the general public in a tactful and courteous manner; effective written and oral communication skills; flexible, responsible, efficient and enthusiastic.

Job Functions:

• Considerable discretion in handling confidential information and sensitive materials is required.
• Effectively prepares for and instructs class as assigned following pre-defined curriculum.
• Maintains a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
• Must be computer literate and willing to use a variety of instructional methods and techniques.
• Participates in staff development training sessions as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned in the fulfillment of the needs, philosophy, and purpose of the Atlanta Public Schools Adult Education Program.

Requirements :

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree or above, preferably with a focus on education: two years teaching experience. Candidates should have an in-depth knowledge of the subject and possess a strong interest in teaching ESL. A background in adult or k-12 education, preferably in ESOL is desired. The ability to accommodate different learning styles with sensitivity to diverse cultures is required.

Compensation :

Salary:$44, 357.00
