Substitute Cleaners:

Responsibility for the general cleaning functions of the building(s) or specific area(s)within the buildings.

• Clean the various classrooms, meeting rooms, lounges, hallways, offices, lavatories and any and all other assigned areas within the building which may include any of the following:
  • Sweep, mop, wet-wash, wax and vacuum assigned floor areas.
  • Dust, clean and polish furniture and fixtures in assigned areas.
  • Empty and clean waste paper baskets.
  • Clean/wash mirrors, desks, tables, chairs, sinks, chalkboard, pencil sharpeners, etc.
• Maintain all equipment, materials and supplies in an orderly manner for most efficient and effective use.
• Insure that all assigned building areas are secured after completion of tasks.
• Report any acts of vandalism, broken equipment, broken windows and fixtures, or non-operating light fixtures to the head custodian and/or assistant custodian.

Demonstrate possession of the physical attributes required to perform all essential functions.

• Demonstrate ability to move, transport, lift and carry, manually or with mechanical assistance, boxes, books, supplies, equipment and trash receptacles.

Perform any and all other related duties or functions that are necessary for the efficient operation of the building as assigned by the head custodian and/or assistant custodian.
