Elementary Teacher - Bilingual in Spanish Preferred (Full-Time, Temporary, Garfield Elementary)

Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to instruct and supervise a diverse group of children by establishing a positive, respectful learning environment, providing ample and varied learning opportunities and promoting high standards of performance for all students regardless of their background and developmental levels.

FTE: 1.0 (Full-time)
FLSA Status: Licensed - Professional
Contract Status: Temporary

Calendar: 191 Work Days
Salary: $41,624 - $84,337 with benefits (Note: this is the 2020-21 salary schedule, 2021-22 salary are currently in negotiations, TBD)
Retirement Contribution: Corvallis School District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP) on behalf of its employees. Upon eligibility, the district contributes 6% of an employee's salary to their Individual Account Program (IAP). Eligibility is defined as working at least six full calendar months in a qualifying position. Part-time employees working at least six months and 600 hours in a calendar year will qualify.
Note: Bilingual in Spanish is preferred for this position. Open until filled.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Valid Oregon teacher's license with appropriate endorsement and grade level authorization. Must be highly qualified or able to become highly qualified in area assigned according to NCLB laws.Understanding of human growth and development patterns, learning theory and brain research.Content knowledge in subject areas taught.Familiarity with a variety of age appropriate instructional, assessment and behavior management strategies that reflect current research on best practices.Familiarity with state standards and curriculum frameworks for elementary grade levels.Required to provide proof of COVID vaccination.
