Amplify is seeking a Director, Corporate Development starting in Q4 2021. This position will report to the Chief Financial Officer.

We're looking for somebody who will:
  • Support CFO on M&A
    • Analyze new market opportunities
    • Identify and develop potential acquisition candidates based on defined strategic criteria
    • Evaluation of acquisition opportunities
    • Participate in pre-transaction and due diligence efforts
    • Write investment memos that encapsulate feedback from leaders across Amplify and summarize opportunity for the board/major investors
    • Transaction execution

  • Support CFO with investor relations and fundraising activities
    • Support with IR and fundraising (e.g. presentations, responding to data requests, etc.)

  • Over time, build the team, as appropriate
    • This would be the first hire Amplify has made in Corp Dev and IR, and the team would potentially grow as the company grows

  • You believe in the power of education and educators - you care about the experiences of young people and the educators and systems that serve them


We think that you'll succeed in this role if you've demonstrated these specific capabilities in your past work:
  • Relationship building: You are able to efficiently establish and build strong professional relationships with different types of people
  • Process management: You are able to establishes project plans, track progress, flag risks and dependencies
  • Strong communication skills: both in person, orally and in writing. This is a high profile role where you'd gain exposure to Amplify's key senior employees, shareholders, business partners and potential investment/acquisition targets
  • Quantitative and financial analysis: Uses quantitative and - where relevant - financial lens to provide convincing and comprehensive answers to questions


Your Professional experience includes:
  • Experience working on M&A deals
  • Venture capital, investment banking or corporate development: You have at least 2 years of experience
  • Executive partnership: You have experience working directly with C-level executives - you have the presence, competence, and work ethic to win trust from busy, capable managers


Preferred experience includes:
  • K-12 education (preferred): You've worked in the education space - maybe you were a teacher, or ran a school, or built a non-profit, or implemented an education policy, or invested in an education company
  • MBA is a plus, but not required
