JOB GOALS : Provide direct and indirect health services to students in order to enhance student learning, promote the overall efficiency of the school system, and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child.

QUALIFICATIONS :
- Registered nurse with a minimum of a bachelor's degree in nursing
- Community health or school nursing experience preferred
- Evidence of strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with people
- Evidence of good ability to communicate with a wide range of people
- Strong knowledge of the health care needs of children
- Must be willing to travel to different schools during the workday
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.
JOB GOALS : Provide direct and indirect health services to students in order to enhance student learning, promote the overall efficiency of the school system, and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Plan and oversee the provision of student health care needs and first aid/emergency care to students during the school day.
- Maintain student health records.
- Consult with staff, parents, and health care providers.
- Participate in the implementation of the school health services programs to aid in the prevention and control of disease.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Assess students' physical and emotional health to plan and develop an individualized plan for the provision of health services at school.
- Assist students and families in accessing health care and social service resources.
- Plan and supervise the care of students with special health care needs, including training of district staff providing this care.
- Provide staff training on student health conditions.
- Assist in identification, follow-up, and reporting of child abuse/neglect cases.
- Assist the Health Services Specialist where appropriate.
