Note: This is a fully remote role, candidates can be located anywhere in the United States.

Summary

This position is an individual contributor to the Product Management team at. The Product Manager II is responsible for the product management, planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: the definition of the market/opportunity, defining the product release vision, gathering and prioritizing product and partner requirements, and working closely with partners and internal units to ensure that profitability and partner satisfaction goals are met. Product Managers II also ensure that their product line supports the organization's overall strategy and mission .

Responsibilities

  • Manage products throughout the product life-cycle from solution innovation, definition, release and end-of-life planning
  • Assess technology trends, and current and emerging competitors in order to inform product direction; utilize and gather market and industry research and analysis to inform a long-range product roadmap
  • Perform market needs analysis to better understand the problems and needs of potential and existing customers
  • Perform win/loss analysis and RFP reviews to identify product strengths, weaknesses and opportunities
  • Create and maintain product value propositions, market requirements and product goals
  • Assist in the development of project charters for product releases with prioritized features and corresponding business case justification and financials
  • Lead beta and pilot programs to gather early partner feedback to identify issues prior to large scale launch
  • Conduct product performance reviews and post launch user acceptance tests
  • Assist and in the development of company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments and key stakeholders to execute
  • Work across business units to ensure products are meeting market needs, socialize product vision, strategy and planning outcomes
  • Identify and facilitate business process changes as required to improve organizational and product line performance
  • Participate in Product Management plan reviews to help develop best practices
  • Identify opportunities to optimize product profitability through production efficiency recommendations, seek to improve partner retention rates and partner satisfaction
  • Regularly interact with product user groups, industry leaders and the learning community in order to stay abreast of industry changes
  • Travel as required, up to 25%
  • Perform other work as assigned to ensure the success of the organization

    • Internal Sales Training & Training Materials
    • Establish and Report on Product KPI's and Metrics
    • Product Demos
  • Sound business judgment and knowledge of financial issues impacting product profitability
  • Solid understanding of technology including Business Intelligence and analytics
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and contribute at both a tactical and strategic level
  • Ability to travel as required, up to 25%

Education and E xperience

  • Minimum five years' experience in product management, product development, product marketing, business analysis or related discipline, with at least one year in enterprise software product management
  • Solid knowledge of/experience with the Product Lifecycle Management processes such as product requirements definition, product business plan development, new product introduction, etc .
  • Experience with p roduct pricing and competitive analysis a plus
  • Demonstrated success in developing and launching complex technology products
  • Bachelor's degree in education, technical or business discipline; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • Domain knowledge and demonstrated understanding of assessments and the educational marketplace a plus
  • Knowledge of item and test production a plus
