1.0 Regular Substitute Elementary Teacher - Maple East Elementary School

Dates of assignment: Approximately 11/22/21 - 6/24/22
DUTIES:

• Must hold a valid NYS certification in Elementary K-6
• Responsible for all duties of a full-time classroom Kindergarten teacher.
• Creating a positive learning environment
• Developing long and short range plans and implementing them effetively
• Formative and summative assessment of student progress and a number of administrative duties such as attendance, parent communication, etc.

ESSENTIAL CORE CHARACTERISTICS:

• Kindergarten experience highly preferred
• Experience with Reading and Writing Workshop model preferred
• Demonstrated abillity to work with peers
• Demonstrated ability to work with supervisors and parents
• Ability to motivate and instruct students
• Character traits necessary to teach young children - enthusiasm, warmth, and dedication
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Common Core Standards
• Technology skills
