Plan and Facilitate a 4 day remote course for CPS K-8 teachers drawing from the Developing Mathematical Ideas curriculum framework and grade participant assignments for course credit.
Making Meaning for Operations: In the Domains of Whole Numbers and Fractions
Participants examine the actions and situations modeled by the four basic operations. The seminar begins with a view of young children's counting strategies as they encounter word problems, moves to an examination of the four basic operations on whole numbers, and revisits the operations in the context of fractions.
Must have completed Facilitator Training for Developing Mathematical ideas courses.
Current CPS Staff member.
Period of Contract: August 1, 2020 - August 31, 2020
Amount of Contract: Not to exceed $1,700
Payment Terms: $50 per hour
