TITLE: Cafeteria General Worker 1
QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to complete successfully the performance responsibilities of the position.High School diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of routine duties related to the preparation and serving of food, including cleaning of the kitchen area and cooking equipment. Able to understand written material, rules, regulations, and apply the material to the position. Customer Service is a major component of ensuring that the students of New London have a learning environment that is friendly, courteous and welcoming.
REPORTS TO: The Building Principal and Food Service Manager
JOB GOAL: To prepare and serve food as directed.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in preparation of meals and serving of meals. Serves food as directed to meet the recipe specifications. Assists in the supervision of the children in the lunch room or recess area. Cleans Kitchen and Dining Room as needed. Performs cashiering duties in some positions. Maintains established departmental and district policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and health and safety standards, and HACCP standards. Encourages and facilitates cooperation, pride, and trust in working with others to achieve goals. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Standing: (Continuous) remain standing on one's feet on hard surfaces. Walking: (Frequent) moving from area to area. Lifting: (Frequent) Raising or lowering and object 5lbs to 50 lbs. Pushing/Pulling (Frequent) Exerting force upon and object to move that object to the desired location. Crouching/Squatting: (Frequent) to access food and materials from floor to waist level or counter. Carrying: (Frequent) transporting an object 5 to 10lbs. by hand, arm, or shoulder. Climbing: (Occasional) Stairs and footstools and storeroom ladders Reaching: (Frequent) extending the hands and arms in any direction. Coordination Balance: performing work using Eye/Hand/foot using any two. Grasping/Handling: (Continuous) seizing, holding, grasping, or otherwise working with one's hands.
Occasional: 6-33% of the time
Frequent: 34 - 66% of the time
Continuous: 67% - 100%
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Annually by the Food Service Manager and Building Principal.
