    TITLE: Cafeteria General Worker 1

    QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to complete successfully the performance responsibilities of the position.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of routine duties related to the preparation and serving of food, including cleaning of the kitchen area and cooking equipment.
  • Able to understand written material, rules, regulations, and apply the material to the position.
  • Customer Service is a major component of ensuring that the students of New London have a learning environment that is friendly, courteous and welcoming.

  • REPORTS TO: The Building Principal and Food Service Manager

    JOB GOAL: To prepare and serve food as directed.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assists in preparation of meals and serving of meals.
  • Serves food as directed to meet the recipe specifications.
  • Assists in the supervision of the children in the lunch room or recess area.
  • Cleans Kitchen and Dining Room as needed.
  • Performs cashiering duties in some positions.
  • Maintains established departmental and district policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and health and safety standards, and HACCP standards.
  • Encourages and facilitates cooperation, pride, and trust in working with others to achieve goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Standing: (Continuous) remain standing on one's feet on hard surfaces.
  • Walking: (Frequent) moving from area to area.
  • Lifting: (Frequent) Raising or lowering and object 5lbs to 50 lbs.
  • Pushing/Pulling (Frequent) Exerting force upon and object to move that object to the desired location.
  • Crouching/Squatting: (Frequent) to access food and materials from floor to waist level or counter.
  • Carrying: (Frequent) transporting an object 5 to 10lbs. by hand, arm, or shoulder.
  • Climbing: (Occasional) Stairs and footstools and storeroom ladders
  • Reaching: (Frequent) extending the hands and arms in any direction.
  • Coordination Balance: performing work using Eye/Hand/foot using any two.
  • Grasping/Handling: (Continuous) seizing, holding, grasping, or otherwise working with one's hands.
