JOB DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of the Human Resources (HR) Specialists is to provide administrative support for various Human Resources related functions; with a focus on personnel actions, customer service, records monitoring, planning, organizing and supporting HR functions to ensure efficient operations and services to all stakeholders.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides administrative support across one or more functional areas within the Human Resources Department, e.g, Certification and Licensure, Recruitment and Staffing, Compensation and Benefits, HR Operations and Compliance, Organizational Development, Employee Engagement.
• Assist with resolving staffing issues following established practices and procedures.
• Create job postings and performs applicant screenings.
• Conducts credentialing reviews to ensure required degrees, licenses, credentials and tests for licensed staff are confirmed, and comply with state regulations and District policy.
• Assist with annual certification and alternative licensure renewal reviews and renewal compliance meetings.
• Assist with employee recruitment, staffing and onboarding, ensuring that employees have appropriate credentials, and meet all pre-employment requirements.
• Assist with planning, organization and administration of activities essential to the effective administration of HR related programs.
• Processes and completes personnel actions, and employee elections throughout the employee life cycle, ensuring that HRIS and inter-connected ancillary systems are updated timely,
• Assist with HRIS system design requirements, modifications, systems implementation & upgrades, monitor systems issues and collaborates with system's vendors to resolve issues.
• Analyzes college transcripts, process experience verifications, and assist employees in understanding step placement on the salary schedule.
• Assist with the creation and maintenance of salary schedules based on established guidelines and procedures.
• Ensures that employee mailouts are disseminated timely.
• Professionally represents the HR department in interactions with staff, job applicants, and all stakeholders.
• Inputs a high volume of data with speed and accuracy, including confidential data.
• Assists in the collection, preparation and review of data for reports, proposals and other formal written communications; ensures that all reports generated are accurate.
• Arranges and schedules various of meetings; notifies participants; confirms dates and times; reserves meeting sites; prepares appropriate materials.
• Serves as a resource to employees for information on HR policies, procedures, rules, compensation and employee benefits.
• Independently answers routine questions and correspondence from staff not requiring a supervisor's attention.
• Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associates degree from an accredited college in Human Resources, Business Administration, Computer Science, or closely related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in human resources management or related field.
  • SHRM Certification preferred.
