Business Systems Analyst II - Business Continuity Management & IT Disaster Recovery
Note: This is a contract position that is fully remote, qualified candidates from all time zones across the US are encouraged to apply!
Position Summary
The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for using their knowledge of software programs and business strategies to help companies maximize efficiency and effectiveness. Their duties include talking with management, subject matter experts, and users to determine their needs, coordinating with IT professionals to provide technical solutions to meet those needs, and helping users on how to use the software effectively.
The incumbent will support projects related to NWEA's business continuity management (BCM) and IT disaster recovery (ITDR) capabilities. This includes establishing organizational disaster recovery requirements and implementation of a new BCM system.
The ideal candidate has experience with business impact analyses, developing service level agreements, and analyzing organizational processes to define disaster recovery metrics such as recovery time objectives and recovery point objectives.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Analyze organizational disaster recovery needs
  • Establish a process for collecting organizational recovery needs, including standard SLA templates
  • Work with business units across the enterprise to define recovery requirements for key services, including RTOs/RPOs
  • Define costs of requested recovery services based on delivery times
  • Analyze costs of supporting recovery services in on-prem versus cloud services (AWS or Azure)
  • Support the Business Continuity Management (BCM) project
  • Document current state BCM processes
  • Update BCM processes to align with new system
  • Develop requirements for the new system
  • Communicate requirements to the delivery team to ensure a shared understanding of the business needs

Education and Experience
  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems, or Business, or in a related field
  • Must be able to quickly grasp NWEA processes and apply business analyst skills and knowledge in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision
  • Understanding of the practice of business analysis and industry standards
