  • Position Purpose - (Full-time) (2 Year Grant - ESSER FUNDS)

    Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to develop students' skills and competence in basic and complex reading & mathematical principles (equations, formulas and calculations, as well as an understanding of the application of mathematics in the solution of practical problems).

    Essential Performance Responsibilities:

    Works with classroom teacher and reading/math coach to provide instruction.

    Develops and administers math intervention consistent with school district goals and objectives.

    Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.

    Works with classroom teacher and reading/math coach to develop lesson plans and instructional materials for subject area, and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.


    Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs;

    Provides direction, consultation, and coordination to ensure comprehensive and sequential curriculum and instruction.

    Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.

    Assists teachers in modifying instructional methods to fit individual student's needs.

    Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Pushes into the Tier I classroom setting to provide tiered support for students who struggle with specific and discrete skills.


    Documents teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes, models the necessary skills to perform assignments; assesses and provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress and achievement towards District expectations.

    Experience working with students in a school setting preferred and/or demonstrated ability to make connections and provide academic support for such students.

    Coordinates with other professional staff members, especially within grade level, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.

    Additional Duties:
    This position may require some substitute teaching when a substitute is not available.
    Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

    Equipment:
    Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.

    Travel Requirements:
    Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
