Our Essex Westford School District is seeking an "on-call" as needed, Sign Language interpreter/translator to provide oral translation at parent/teacher meetings, and written translation of specific school documents (e.g., grade reports, letters, etc.). Position pays $50.00/hour for oral translation for up to one hour/meeting,

We are currently accepting applications from qualified candidates who can provide Sign Language translation, supporting our deaf and hard-of-hearing population. Work will be available on an on-call as-needed basis. Qualified candidates will have excellent oral and/or written translation/interpretation skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, and an understanding of the individuals being served is also required. Preferred candidates have some experience providing translation services in a professional setting.

Candidates must live within driving distance to our school district and be able to attend school-based meetings.

Reference Check Requirements - Candidates who pass the initial application screening will be sent an email with a link to enter your references: 3 total of which at least 2 must be current or former managers/supervisors. If you are a recent graduate, teachers, professors and instructors may qualify as manager references. This process should be completed within 24 hours of receiving the email. Once your references are entered, they will receive an email with the web link to complete the reference. All selected applicants must also complete EWSD Mandatory Trainings prior to working in our districts. These trainings are provided at no cost to the applicant.

Job Requirements
