About St. Athanasius:

St. Athanasius is a small and close community. With less than 300 students, the entire school creates a supportive and collaborative environment. LBS Teacher:

• Provides specialized instruction and support by serving as a teacher with specific responsibility to students eligible for special education services or on a student support plan.
• Works to increase academic and social-emotional skills of students within the classroom or other assigned areas.
• Develops lesson plans and delivers group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines and student support plans, while collaborating with other teachers, related services personnel, parents, and administrators to develop instruction and monitor student progress.
• Works in the capacity as case manager to facilitate student support plan meetings, writes appropriate goals and objectives, collects data, and reports progress for the purpose of assessing goal attainment.
• Working on a team with 2 other LBS teachers within the school

Qualifications:
· Minimum of a bachelor's degree is required
· Valid state teaching licensure (we accept out-of-state teaching licenses)

Preferred Qualifications:
· 1 to 3 years teaching experience
· Experience teaching through remote learning platforms
· LBS1 Endorsement

General Responsibilities:
· Teach and act in accordance with the mission of the Catholic faith.
· Communicate regularly with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and principal
· Participate in professional development programs required by the Archdiocese of Chicago and/or the local school and parish
· Perform teaching duties as assigned by the principal, including but not limited to providing remote instruction for students
· Attend required faculty and staff meetings
· Cooperate with the principal and staff members in school related meetings, activities, and projects
· Maintain accurate student attendance and academic records
· Maintain a safe, orderly, and secure learning environment
· Participate in the annual performance review
· Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding school personnel, students, and general school matters

Working Conditions:

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee must frequently move, stand, and lift up to 10 pounds. As well as be able to walk up and down steps several times each day and physically respond quickly in an emergency.
