We are currently looking for a Human Resources Manager to join our Corporate location. This role will report directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer. If the following opportunity sounds like the right fit for you, please apply.

Primary Purpose:

Assist in the management of the human resource function including human resource policies and procedures, benefits, safety, compensation, training and development, employee relations and communications. Provide direction and assistance in a staff capacity to the various departments and executives in implementing personnel and labor relations responsibilities. This position handles operations of the day-to day-activities and procedures in the HR office.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification preferred.

Experience:
  • At least 5 years of related human resources experience.
  • At least 2 year of supervisory experience preferred.


Responsibilities:
  • Assist in providing general supervision for company-wide activities of personnel administration, wage and salary administration, management training and development, safety, benefits administration, employee communications, employee activities, staffing, legal compliance and labor relations.
  • Maintains all human resource and salary records. Assist in administering wage and salary policies and the performance appraisal process.
  • Coordinate the complaint process including creating complaint files, conducting investigations, scheduling complaint hearings, gathering documentation, assigning hearing officers, sending out notices and tracking complaint statuses.
  • Manage the employee compliance training process including sourcing and adding/updating courses to the learning management system, adding new and terming separated to/from the system, keeping current courses updated, sending out training notifications, and ensuring that employees complete all required training in a timely manner. Conduct training courses.
  • Manage the employee discipline process. Train, advise, and assist supervisors on the progressive discipline process, including helping supervisors draft effective performance improvement plans. Track employee coaching and discipline.
  • Assist the Chief Human Resources Officer with drafting performance appraisals. Facilitate the annual performance appraisal process including training managers and employees on the process and system. Ensuring supervisors complete performance appraisal process in a timely manner. Track performance appraisal process and metrics and report status to Chief Human Resources Officer.
  • Manage the separation process. Draft separation letters, notify the appropriate department/individuals, update ERP system and update employee personnel files. Send out exit surveys and report on exit survey feedback.
  • Assist with the employee transfer/reassignment process.
  • Act as a liaison with temporary agencies to process temporary employees and payrollers. Ensure proper written authorization from Department Head and/or Principal and President or Designee.
  • Verify, audit and maintain certifications with the Texas State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC) and licensing information of certified or licensed professionals, paraprofessionals and auxiliary employees.
  • Research and maintain current electronic and physical information on SBEC rules, certification requirements, testing dates, etc. Track certification, testing, and permit status and communicate with employees to ensure completion of certification requirements within established timelines.
  • Assist the Chief Human Resources Officer with drafting and administering employee engagement surveys. Assist in preparing and presenting employee engagement data.
  • Draft responses to Texas Workforce Commission unemployment appeals and attend appeal hearings.
  • Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule and local board policy.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.

Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.

Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).

Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel; occasional statewide travel and out-of-state travel.

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress.
