Description: DYS Instructional Coach - Metro Region

Job Summary: The Collaborative for Educational Services is looking for one outstanding individual to join its CES Instructional Coaching team in the Metro region for the Department of Youth Services Initiative. This individual will support the professional growth and development of DYS educational staff through in person, blended, and remote individual and group professional development and coaching activities that result in improved educator practice and student outcomes. In addition, the Instructional Coach will support educators in personalizing learning for youth across different concentrations (i.e., high school, GED/HiSet, post-secondary, online learning, career exploration, etc.)

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred)Current secondary level (8-12) Massachusetts license in History and/or English Language Arts and desire to continue career improvement. Other secondary level (8-12) licenses will be considered.Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience with above average evaluationsExperience in research-based instructional practices and demonstrated excellence in teachingProficiency in current educational and professional technologies (e.g., MS Office, G-Suites, etc.)Outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal skillsHave a valid Massachusetts driver's license and reliable transportation

Ability to model effective planning, instruction, and assessment practicesSupport teachers with classroom management, social-emotional learning, youth development, and culturally responsive practicesProvide professional development to educators that support their mastery of content knowledge, skills, and pedagogySupport the ongoing growth and development of new teachers through group and individual professional development and mentoring

Working Conditions: Onsite work with teachers and specialist at DYS programs and host agencies.
Workplace Health and Safety: CES employees working on site in DYS, DMH, DPH or CHC facilities are required to demonstrate that they have received COVID-19 vaccination, unless a exception medical (101 CMR 23.04(3)) or religious (101 CMR 23.04(4) applies.

Compensation scale: SEIU CBA salary scale based on licensure and education. Range $46,000-$76,000
CES Benefits: CES offers a comprehensive benefit package including: Health, Dental, Vision, Long Term Disability, Life Insurance, and voluntary Short Term Disability, enhanced Vision and additional Life Insurance. Health Insurance is offered through Tufts/Harvard Pilgrim and includes two plan options: PPO with a self-funded Health Savings Account, and HMO with a Health Reimbursement Account funded by CES to support a portion of employees required health insurance deductions. FSA and Dependent Care accounts are available. CES is considered a quasi-state agency and provides two retirement options for employees based on eligibility. The Executive Director position is eligible for the Massachusetts Teachers Retirement (MTRS). Employees are vested after ten years of creditable service. Professional development and mentoring offered throughout the school year.
