Essential Functions and Objectives:

Administers and manages activities within a specific area of a responsibility. Serves as the subject matter expert and applies gained knowledge to execute, maintain and improve systems, programs, or processes.

Assists in placement and transports student participants in the School to Work Alliance Program (SWAP), a cooperative effort between the District and the Colorado Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR). Works with students with mild to moderate disabilities as they transition from high school into the workforce.

- Provides various support and conducts activities related to logistics, reporting, training, communications, and processes. Participates in the planning and implementation of new initiatives.

- Assess and troubleshoot escalated problems and apply expert understanding to resolve complex challenges of stakeholders; focus on root cause identification in order to achieve systemic and sustainable improvement. Approves and documents exceptions for compliance record keeping and reporting.

- Ensures appropriate key stakeholder involvement in planning, goal-setting, and implementation to achieve buy-in of work products. Ensures purposeful, positive and professional interactions and relationships with all stakeholders; enables consistent application of work products across the district.

- Identifies opportunities for improvement, prioritizes, and recommends solutions to management. Implements approved enhancements to ensure consistency across the district. identifies opportunities to reduce costs; analyzes available data, trends, and feedback, and ensures compliance with expectations for optimal operation and goal achievement.

- Pre-screens individuals to identify appropriate referral needs for employment.

- Assists Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) counselor with diagnostics and records to determine clients eligible for DVR and SWAP services.

- Identifies SWAP client barriers to employment and assists in establishing appropriate employment plans; models and teaches self-determination, empowerment, and advocacy skills at work and in the community.

- Provides employment services to SWAP consumers through placement assistance, job development, job shadows, job coaching, and job seeking skills.

- Establishes working relationships within community organizations by helping SWAP consumers utilize services, such as the workforce center and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) programs.

- Establishes and maintains relationships with staff throughout the school system in order to provide appropriate services to SWAP consumers.

- Initiates one year follow-along services to SWAP consumers.

- Teaches job seeking activities; provides job-related instruction and supervision; and develops post-secondary, short-term training opportunities that result in employment readiness.

- Provides counseling and crisis intervention with youth, employers, and families for duration of placement and year follow- along and provides case management to coordinate access of other services and agency linkages.

- Provides necessary reports to document services delivered, progress toward objectives, and attainment of goals.

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

- Two (2) years experience modifying tasks and/or designing adaptations within job/community settings.

- Experience in job development, vocational assessments, job coaching, and working with people with mild to moderate disabilities.

- Valid Colorado Driver's License, appropriate insurance coverage, and acceptable driving record for the past three years.

- Proficiency with Google Suite products, including Docs, Excel, and Gmail.

- Effective time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

- Effective communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills.

- Ability to remain focused and attentive to the client at hand.

- Effectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlines.

- The ability to take responsibility for one's own performance.

- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with community groups, social services, and government agencies in project-focused activities.

- Aptitude for variety and changing expectations in a fast-paced environment.

- Knowledge of job development strategies, vocational assessments, and job coaching, preferably with clients having mild to moderate disabilities, preferred.

- Ability to maintain an empathetic and supportive position with clients, case managers, and employers, preferred.

- Must have a strong client focus and good customer service skills, preferred.

- Ability to work with young people with disabilities and serve as positive role model, preferred.

- Ability to handle confrontational or disruptive behavior from students or their family members, preferred.

- Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.

Education Requirements:

- High School Diploma/GED required.

- Associate's Degree preferred.
