Essex Westford School District is seeking a full-time Mechanical Systems Technician to join our team!
The Mechanical Systems Technician responsible for constructing, installing, modifying, repairing and maintaining plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, kitchen/sports refrigeration equipment, and environmental control systems. Responsibilities include reviewing heating and cooling requirements and making recommendations to achieve optimum system effectiveness and efficiency. This position will require flexibility in schedule and will work across all the various EWSD locations.

Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:
  • 3 to 7 years of relevant technical training/experience. Plumbing license preferred but willing to consider a combination of education and experience.
  • Broad base of knowledge and skills related to plumbing and HVAC systems. Demonstrated experience troubleshooting, installation, maintenance and repair of systems.
  • Experience with DDC (computer controlled building automation systems)
  • Good general knowledge and skills related to other mechanical systems functions, and building construction and repair.
  • Proven ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of a team. Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with peers, subordinates, supervisors, parents, and outside agencies.
  • Must hold a valid VT Driver's License and must maintain an acceptable driving record. Additional certifications and/or licenses related to the essential role are desirable.
