Title: Special Education PK-12 Support Lead Teacher
Reports to: Director of Special Education

1. Assists the Director and Assistant Director of Special Education in providing leadership in the development of district special education programs based on effective student learning practices and state and federal laws and regulations
2. Assists the Director and Assistant Director of Special Education in implementing recommendations from the district's special education program improvement plan-aligns the district's special services, programs, plans and actions to the district special education service delivery plan.
3. Assists the Director and Assistant Director of Special Education in overseeing state and federal compliance of special education programs
4. Assists in monitoring the implementation and compliance of special education services/ programs with state and federal laws, professional practices and high achieving comparable districts
5. Assist the Director and Assistant Director of Special Education in special education count data, Extended School Year Service planning, and IEP compliance
6. Assist teams in paraeducator training.
7. Assists in promoting special education programs to the community and cooperate with community organizations and support groups with common interests
8. Assist the Director and Assistant Director of Special Education in the development of the special education budget.
9. Assist the Director and Assistant Director of Special Education in recommending teacher and paraeducator staffing of special education programs
10. Maintain appropriate records and protects the confidentiality of data
11. Assist the Director and Assistant Director of Special Education in promoting positive public image of schools and programs within the community
12. Performs other duties as assigned
