GENERAL STATEMENT

Westover Leap Frog Academy is funded through the State Afterschool Grant. The program will extend the school day by providing homework help, enrichment and recreational activities. There is an integrated focus on STEAM enrichment, academics, homework help, health and social services, youth and community development, and community engagement for improved student learning. Westover Leap Frog Academy Paraeducators will be employed to assist teachers in Westover Academy classes.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist teachers with after-school activities that may be based on student interest and passion.
• Complete all data and information related to grant guidelines, i.e. surveys and attendance information.
• Assist in developing successful enrichment experiences for the targeted groups of students.
• Help create a safe and welcoming environment so all students can interact and learn.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Leap Frog Academy Program Manager under the guidelines of the current paraeducators' contract.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current SPS Paraeducator
• Passionate about working with students
• Demonstrated capacity to work cooperatively with others.

TERM

September through June; Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. There is some flexibility in hours and days as classes are not required to meet each day. Schedule may require additional hours per week for grants related data and staff meetings while program is in session.
