About this role...
As the Director of Professional Learning (PL) Delivery , you will be responsible for managing the human capital and services operations of the Professional Learning Delivery team. Your responsibilities include the overall management of the P L Delivery team, including the designing of all delivery processes and workflow, monitoring capacity, participating in, or leading cross-organizational meetings, managing budget processes, and removing barriers to success for members of the Professional Learning Delivery team on sustaining work, projects, and initiatives. In addition, you will be responsible for the management and development of assigned direct reports and represents P L in many organization-wide initiatives. You will work closely with other members of the Professional Learning leadership team and other decision-makers across the organization, in the creation, development, and execution of professional learning strategies and tactical plans that further the mission of NWEA. As the Director of Professional Learning Delivery , you will foster a team environment that is conducive to promoting high quality professional learning and performance management. In this role you will be a member of the NWEA PL Leadership team, and it is expected you will have a leadership role in the organization demonstrated through active involvement in cross-functional initiatives.

Your next challenge...
  • Provide high-level vision and support to regional PL delivery teams to deliver on organizational expectations, including business results, quality, and organizational values.
  • Ensure implementation of quality standards in all partner-facing work; manage quality concerns from partners and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Provide leadership, support, and ongoing coaching for direct reports in their leadership, performance management, delivery, professional learning, and engagement in their teams' continuous improvement efforts; leverage data dialogues and performance coaching tools to encourage a culture of continuous improvement for all direct reports. Provide coaching and support to direct reports in goal setting, individualized professional learning, and career development.
  • Act as a point of escalation for Delivery and Partner Accounts teams.
  • Along with other members of the PL leadership team, provide overall vision and annual goals for the PL Delivery team s ; ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Utilize quantitative and qualitative team data to provide input into annual staff professional learning plan; ensure centrally developed staff professional learning is implemented in assigned region(s).
  • Identify and advocate for resources and tools that will strengthen Professional Learning in the future and play an active role in their implementation. These resources could include staff professional learning, new processes/systems, additional human resources and more.
  • In collaboration with the Sr. VP of PL, represent PL with Partner Accounts leadership; appropriately use advocacy and influence to achieve goals of the PL Services team and the organization overall.
  • In collaboration with Proposals, PL Design, and other stakeholders, develop standard RFP responses as needed.
  • Collaborate with other members of the PL leadership team and others in the organization to find resolutions and move work forward; ensure timely and accurate completion of projects; model mutual accountability for the regional teams and the organization.
  • Provide support for the recruitment and hiring process for the entire PL Delivery team ; plan for resources to match anticipated partner demand.
  • Prepare, manage, and possess accountability for the PL Delivery budget.
  • Model continuous improvement by maintaining awareness of industry standards, trends, and best practices in PL delivery; collaborate with other members of the P L Leadership team to integrate best practices, including digital online learning and adult learning standards, into all delivery methods.
  • Represent the PL team in organization-wide meetings and efforts related to assigned projects or sustaining work as requested.
  • Travel up to 50 % or as required to support the business dynamics of the function.

Education and experience ...
  • Master 's degree or higher in education or related field required; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • Five to eight years of experience in directing/leading large scale professional learning work in the K-12 education industry.
  • Prior experience in the development of professional learning courses and/or workshops preferred
  • Supervisory experience as skilled manager and team-builder
