Substitute Teachers are hired on a rolling basis from July through April of each school year.

Minimum Qualifications

Certified

  • State of Wisconsin Teaching License (applicant holds degree in Education; license on file prior to employment; )
  • copy of your official transcripts showing a degree in education
  • Instructional Practice
  • Experience working with children and youth
  • Experience working cross-culturally and/or commitment to work toward improving one's own cultural competence, i.e., valuing difference/diversity recognizing personal limitations in one's skills and expertise, and having the desire to learn in these areas.
Permit

  • State of Wisconsin 3-Year Short-Term Substitute License (applicant holds degree in non-Education area; applies for license after being hired by MMSD)
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Good academic standing
  • official transcripts showing at least a bachelor's level degree
  • Experience working with children and youth
  • Experience working cross-culturally and/or commitment to work toward improving one's own cultural competence, i.e., valuing difference/diversity recognizing personal limitations in one's skills and expertise, and having the desire to learn in these areas.


Salary Range

161.92 - 161.92 Daily Wage
