About the Position

The purpose of this pool is to develop a group of interested candidates who are available and interested in these types of positions. Should a position open that matches your certification area, HR may reach out to you via email with more information.

During the 2021-22 school year, MMSD will have a need for certified school psychologists, counselors, social workers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, vision teachers, teacher of the deaf/hard of hearing, and speech and language clinicians to cover leaves of absence.

Positions could be short-term or longer-term, depending on the need of the school environment. They may be part-time or full-time. For jobs of .50 FTE or greater, in roles that are a semester or longer in length, subs may have access to MMSD's full benefits package. Pupil Services area subbing positions are compensated at their daily contract rate of pay, per the teacher salary schedule.

Reports to Assistant Director of Student Services and Building Principal

Essential Duties

MMSD Student Services Staff function in the role of the regular contracted staff member while covering in that building. For full job descriptions, please refer to this document .

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree or higher from an accredited program

Must hold a DPI license in the area of work being supported, covering the grade levels being supported.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to travel substantially throughout the Madison Metropolitan Area.
  • Work requires ambulatory movement, lifting up to 50-lbs. unassisted, climbing, bending, reaching, and kneeling.


Salary Range

163.91 - 163.91 Daily Wage

Next Steps

After submitting your application, HR will review your information and will invite you to sign up for a first round video interview if you meet minimum qualifications.
Candidates who pass the first-round video interview stage will be eligible for second-round, school-based interviewing at schools who have specific vacancies. School-based interviews begin in April and continue throughout the summer as new vacancies become known across the district.

Timeline

Human Resources will evaluate candidates on a rolling basis beginning December 1, and as needed thereafter. School-based interviewing for specific positions will begin in mid to late April. Interviews are scheduled based on district/school need and certification/skills of applicants.
