A long-term substitute is needed for a Spanish Bilingual Interventionist position (Grades K-5).
Summary:
Under general supervision, the Spanish Bilingual Interventionist coordinates and implements Spanish and English reading interventions for Dual Language and Spanish Bilingual English Learners in grades K-2 and grades 3-5, or as small group intervention teacher for students placed on Tier II or Tier III as defined by the Response to Intervention model; engages and supports students in learning in accordance with the State of Illinois learning standards; utilizes research-based resources; compiles and monitors student achievement/growth data; maintains and creates an effective environment for student learning; organizes subject matter for student learning; plans instruction and designs learning experiences for students; assesses student learning; and develops as a professional educator.

10-month, full-time teaching position starting late August 2021 through mid-November 2021.

Qualifications:
- Professional Educators License (PEL) – Elementary K-9;
- English as a Second Language Endorsement;
- Bilingual Education Teacher Endorsement - Spanish;
- Reading Specialist Endorsement preferred ;
- Related teaching experience preferred ;
- Knowledge of exemplary instructional practices related to student achievement;
- Ability to aggregate and disaggregate student achievement and growth data sets;
- Ability to interpret student achievement and growth data sets;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective organizational relationships and work;
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills;
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
