The purpose of this job is to manage long term projects that involve training, data analysis, data entry and problem solving to ensure data accuracy and use in the district.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts training sessions on district data including use of platforms and reading state level data.
  • Conducts applicable research collection and analysis for multiple research projects throughout the year.
  • Conceptualizes and writes new reporting in Cognos to support district data collection and strategic planning.
  • Participates in report writing training in both IBM cognos and SQL.
  • Learns new database systems and reporting language as needed with new applications.
  • Stays up to date with current state accountability rules and updates district reporting as necessary.
  • Writes research reports on set topics throughout the school year.
  • Develops presentation materials around research report topics.
  • Completes reviews of applicable research as necessary.
  • Enrolls all Contract Agency students into their zoned school and maintains their data.
  • Assists with collection and verification of testing documents.
  • Maintains professional development records.
  • Communicates through the proper channels to keep supervisor and other appropriate personnel informed of impending problems.
  • Follows established procedures for ensuring assigned areas are safe.
  • Works collaboratively with schools, Central Office and other stakeholders.
  • Attends work and arrives to work on time.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Adheres to the Teacher Code of Ethics as defined by Tennessee Law.
  • Receives, prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, lists, procedures, spreadsheets, or other documents.
  • Operates a computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data; verifies accuracy of entered data and makes corrections; performs basic maintenance of office/computer equipment.
  • Performs general/clerical tasks, which may include answering telephone calls, sending/receiving faxes, or filing documentation.
  • Attends conferences and\or training as necessary to maintain knowledge of current reporting requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Education/Experience:
  • College degree required.
  • Three (3) years of experience working with research and/or database systems preferred.
  • Basic working knowledge of and experience with Microsoft and SQL preferred.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
  • May be asked to maintain a current driver's license.


Skills/Qualifications:
  • Ability to use a variety of software applications to generate reports.
  • Ability to analyze data and make corrections to ensure the integrity of the data.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with a team and complete routine task independently.

Compensation:
Salary is based on a combination of relevant education and experience.
