POSITION SUMMARY

• The Accounting Assistant I will perform a variety of accounting tasks, including reviewing financial and accounting documents. Reviewing all financial statements and reports; reconciling reports for accuracy and completeness. Ensures conformance with appropriate procedures and standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Prepares, interprets, submits, enters and processes data into financial system and to appropriate departments.
• Process requisitions and follow-up w/purchase orders.
• Ensuring the Purchase Orders are received, filled and paid in a timely manner.
• Communicates with Finance Departments regarding CTAE Budget accuracies and resolve budget and vendors
discrepancies.
• Maintains spreadsheets for General Fund and special programs accounts.
• Reviews and evaluates invoices and/or other payment requests for vendor payment.
• Process batch receipts, receives and reconcile data to spreadsheet and financial system.
• Makes travel arrangements for teachers and students' attending national competitions.
• Including scheduling APS Buses and approved Charters.
• Assists and supports co-workers and other staff with financial system.
• Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
• Required to attend scheduled shift during regular business hours as mandated.

Requirements :

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:
? High School Diploma or GED.
? Associate's in Accounting or Finance or Business Administration preferred.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
? N/A

WORK EXPERIENCE:
? 1 year of Accounts Payable/Receivable
? Experience in Financial Account preferred
? Accounting experience within a K-12 environment preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

? General knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payables/recievables processes
? Proficient computer technology skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
? Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, such as Lawson
? Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
? Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables
? Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
? Ability to compute rates and percentages
? Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals
? Ability to write routine correspondence
? Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors and staff

Compensation :

Salary Grade: 119

Salary Range: FY'21 APS Salary Schedule (All Positions)
